June just slipped by. We went to West Yellowstone for the unveiling of the calf buffalo. We had a good time and took many pictures. We also went with FRAA to the Grant Kohrs Ranch at Deer Lodge for 4 days of painting.
        This month we went to Glacier Park for 3 days. We had barely arrived when a group of vehicles signaled something interesting going on. There was a big Grizzly walking purposefully across the meadow. Now and then he looked at us. We got some great pictures. The next day we were privileged to see 2 cow moose feeding in a small lake with their calves playing on the bank.
        On the home front: It is dry. The spring rains were wonderful and the hills are still green as far as I can see, but the grass is crisp and has that blue tint that comes from too much heat and too little water. The creek is dry and we will be lucky if it runs again next spring.
        Haying is half over. We are irrigating, hoping for a second cutting.
        I finished painting my porch but as for painting pictures, I have a couple started. Summer is a busy time.

        Jim & I were both in the Western Reflections Art Show at the TRAC center near Pasco, WA. over Mothers' Day weekend. We had a wonderful time with good friends, good  food and lots of good art. We plan on going back next year.
       Two days after coming home we went to Special Olympics in Great Falls to see my grandaughter Leanne bowl, and to attend the opening ceremony. This weekend her sister Tanya graduates from Choteau Highschool.
        Last Saturday we joined other members of FRAA for a paintout in the Choteau City Park. We intend to do more of that this summer.
        It has been raining for four days and we have over 4 inches of rain. We hope it will fill the reservoirs and and wells. Our creek, the Dry Forks, is running for the first time in 2 years and is so amazing I went out and took pictures!  Like the rest of Montana we are in a drought so we are enjoying the mud and rain. It has been a long time in coming.

I should title this "March Madness". After breaking my ankle bone at Special Olympics I dreaded wearing the boot at the art show in Great Falls March 12 to 16.  So I cheated. I only wore it to set up and pack up our room at the show. We had a great time and I was thrilled to win first prize for watercolor in the Lobby Show.

March 19th I flew to Arizona.  I dreaded even more wearing the boot on my trip so I didn't even take it. We had a great time but I was glad to get home to the snow and out of the heat. We had a nice snow the day after I got home and that is good. We need the moisture.

After playing catchup for a few days we will be getting ready for our next art show, held in Pasco, Washington May 9, 10, and 11 at the Tri-City Convention Center. I have started a painting of 3 raku pottery pots.

The past two months have been busy and fun. We are getting ready for the Western Heritage Artist's Assn. Show which is March 12 through the 16th at the Holiday Inn in Great Falls, Montana. Jim and I are sharing ROOM 101. Do come and view our new work. The room will be easy to find. Sitting outside our door  will be "Blossom" the calf buffalo Jim  painted for West Yellowstone. Three days after the show I will be flying to Arizona for 10 days  with 3 highschool girlfriends. Then back home to get ready for another art show in May.

We did go to the Winter Special Olympics at Whitefish, MT last week. My grandaughter Leanne got 3 gold medals for her Alpine Skiing. We were all thrilled for her. The only other thing of note that happened that weekend was when I fell on the ice and  broke a bone in my ankle, so I am wearing one of those cute little strap-on boots for the next 6 weeks.
